My love for fashion began at home, watching my mother design and stitch my clothes with care and patience. From a young age, I was drawn to the process. The fabrics, the details, and the effort behind every piece. Those early experiences shaped not only my appreciation for clothing, but also my respect for true craftsmanship.
Over time, I came to understand the value of handwork, the kind that takes over a hundred hours to complete, yet often goes unnoticed and underappreciated. Behind every detailed piece is skilled labor, dedication, and artistry that deserves recognition. This understanding became one of the driving forces behind my brand.
I chose the name Zaari because of my deep admiration for traditional zardozi and zari work. Intricate embroidery that has been a part of South Asian heritage for centuries. Historically, zari work was crafted using fine gold and silver threads, often reserved for royalty and ceremonial wear. Over time, it has evolved in technique and accessibility, while still maintaining its elegance and cultural significance.
Through Zaari, my goal is to honor that legacy while bringing it into the present. I aim to create timeless pieces that blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. Each garment is designed to embody sophistication, meaning, and enduring beauty, offering you not just clothing, but a piece of art shaped by heritage and refined for today.
